Urban One is looking for an energetic Administrative Assistant with exceptional communication skills. As our Administrative Assistant, in addition to running our reception, you will also provide support for our executives, human resources and project management teams. Essential Function and Responsibilities:

  • Compose correspondence/reports as needed; answer the telephone, greet guests, photocopy and scan documents, receive and send mail and deliveries
  • Perform Human Resources tasks related to recruitment, benefits administration
  • Update and maintain Human Resource database system and physical files
  • Provide high level administration to the executive group
  • Coordination of meetings, business communication, conferences and travel arrangements as required
  • Manage postage machine (check, report and order)
  • Order and keep stock of stationery supplies, including business cards, and marketing material
  • Respond to and resolve general and confidential inquiries
  • Assist other departments as required


Experience, Education & Accreditation

  • 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative support role
  • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to maintain data records with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative; demonstrated tact, diplomacy, professionalism at all times
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated with the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the construction industry an asset
